Should I Sell My Home Now or Wait Until Spring?

List Now or Wait for the Spring Market?

This is a great question and one we've been asked a lot lately at Molisse Realty Group

In Massachusetts, homes generally show better in the Spring than they do in Winter; the grass is green, flowers begin to bloom, and the swimming pool is open. The back yard looks its best, the snow is gone, and subtle hints of summer are just around the corner.

What you'll also notice in the Spring is a landslide of homes coming on the market at what is considered the peak season of real estate. These homes are now in competition with each other and all are vying for the attention of the Buyer.

In a housing market with limited inventory such as we’re in right now, Buyers and Realtors alike are scanning their local MLS constantly looking for something new to hit the market, and a just listed property today will tend to have a flurry of activity and often multiple offers (with price being key!)

If you're a seller, what does this mean for you? Low inventory today just may trump the beauty of spring!
