Carpenito Guilty of Manslaughter In Weymouth Stabbing Homicide

A Weymouth man will face up to 20 years in prison for killing his roommate in May 2011.

A Weymouth man was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in the stabbing of his roommate at their Weymouth apartment in  May 2011.

A Norfolk County jury found Eric G. Carpenito, 34, guilty of stabbing 50-year old David Lilley, Jr.

A total of eight witnesses were brought to the stand, according to District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey.

“The jury deliberated for more than 10 hours before delivering this verdict, and it appears that they were thoughtful in their deliberations” Morrissey said after the verdict.

The DA confirmed that Carpenito will be sentenced at 2 p.m on January 31. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
