Weymouth police arrested a Holbrook man on Wednesday after he allegedly struck six vehicles with his Dodge Ram pickup truck with a plow, while driving on the wrong side of the road.
Police found Michael J. Foley, age 59, of Holbrook at the South Shore Hospital, after one witnessed followed his erratic vehicle, police said.
Police said Foley was at the South Shore Hospital because he was visiting someone. He was administered field sobriety tests and arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Foley was also charged with six counts of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, negligent operation of a vehicle, operating with a suspended license and marked lanes violations.
The six crashes occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Randolph Street and were spread out for close to one mile, police said. All six drivers were able to avoid head on collisions with Foley and there were no reported injuries, police said.
Witnesses said Foley continued on the wrong side of the road without stopping towards Pond Street.
Foley was held overnight on $500 bail. He was due to be arraigned in Quincy Court on Thursday.
