Three Veterans Sworn in as New Weymouth Police Officers

Weymouth has three new police officers.

Weymouth has three new police officers.

Lindsay M. Flipp, Jason T. O’Brien and Michael S. Lang were sworn in earlier this month by Town Clerk Kathleen A. Deree.

With the addition of the new officers, Weymouth now has a staff of 90.

The three officers, all military veterans, graduated from the Police Academy in New Braintree  on February 15, according to the Weymouth Police Department’s Facebook Page.

They now have six weeks of training with a field training officer before going out working alone.

Flipp, age 24, grew up in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School.   She is a veteran of the US Army and previously worked as a Cadet for the Milton Police Department.

O’Brien, age 27 grew up in Hanover and graduated from Hanover High School.  He is from Weymouth and is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lang, age 29 was born and raised in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School. He has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Massasoit Community College and is a  veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Iraq.
