Weymouth Man Attacks Father With Beer Bottle In Front of Toddler

Police arrested a Weymouth man at Broadway Station after he and a companion attacked a couple in front of their 2-year-old daughter.

A Weymouth man is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon after MBTA Transit Police say he attacked a father with a beer bottle in front of his wife and 2-year-old daughter.

Police said Joseph Pacheco, 43 of Weymouth and a female companion assaulted the couple on the Red Line train, in its route from Wollaston Station to Broadway, according to an article on Boston.com.

Twice during the train ride, Pacheco asked the male victim for a cigarette and the man declined, the Globe reported. The second time Pacheco asked for a cigarette, he was leaning over the stroller carrying the couple’s 2-year-old daughter and when the mother asked him to move away from the child, Pacheco’s unknown companion assaulted her, the Globe reported.
