Notre Dame Girls Go Crazy For Ed Sheeran [PHOTOS]

After Notre Dame Academy collected more winter coats than over 30 other schools, they were awarded a private concert by Ed Sheeran.

Over 100 screaming Notre Dame Academy students packed the school’s auditorium holding their cell phones in the air to capture shots of pop star Ed Sheeran.

Some held signs for their beloved singer, while others chanted his name, shouted “I love you,” and some even cried to the sound of his tunes.

Sheeran performed live for the girls at a private concert on Thursday afternoon after the school collected 2,779 coats, winning the “Karson and Kennedy's Koats for Kids” coat drive.  A private performance by Sheeran was the grand prize.

“This guy writes songs and sings with emotion, and you get to see first hand, the music that is being made today is as great as it was back in the 60’s when the Beatles came over,” Karson said. “For me it was just awesome to see kids interacting with music like this.”

Sheeran told stories to the girls, took a picture of them and sang his two best known singles "The A Team" and "Lego House."

Sheeran played a total of three songs.  After the last song, the students began chanting, “One more” and the pop singer came back on stage for a grand finale.

“I just love him,” coat drive organizer Hannah Paradise said.

The school entered the contest after Paradise, along with fellow classmates Marissa Gildea and Abby Rouleau heard about it on the “Karson and Kennedy” morning show on Mix 104.1 FM.

The students created flyers around school and used Twitter to promote the coat drive and quickly had thousands of winter jackets collected.

For their efforts, the girls got to stand on stage and meet the pop star along with Karson and Kennedy.

“I was just blown away,” Karson said.  “They got almost 3,000 coats!”
