Pop Star Ed Sheeran to Hold Private Concert at Notre Dame Academy

After Notre Dame Academy collected more winter coats than over 30 other schools, they were awarded a private concert by Ed Sheeran.

Notre Dame Academy in Hingham was awarded a private concert by pop superstar Ed Sheeran after the school won first prize in the “Karson and Kennedy's Koats for Kids” coat drive.

NDA beat out over 30 other schools by collecting a total of  2,779 coats for the drive, which was sponsored by The Big Brother Big Sister Foundation and Boston radio station Mix 104.1 FM.

“It is nice knowing we are making a difference for someone, especially in this cold weather,”   NDA senior and coat drive organizer Hannah Paradise said in a written statement.

Abby Rouleau, a freshman who also helped organized the drive said she was impressed by the mountains of coats that overflowed the collection drop off area in the school’s main entrance, while  Principal Kathleen Colin described the spirit and energy of the school during the drive as "palpable."

“The girls were not only excited about the prospect of having Ed Sheeran perform at NDA; the students' strong motivation to collect thousands of coats was driven by their keen understanding that their efforts would provide warmth to kids in need during these cold winter months,” Colin said in a written statement. “I'm very proud of our girls and the entire NDA community."
