Weymouth Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing From Church

Edward MacKenzie Jr., was arrested at his Weymouth home after being indicted on charges including racketeering and extortion from the Boston Society of the New Jerusalem Church.

A 54-year-old Boston church official from Weymouth was arrested Wednesday on charges of stealing money from the Boston Society of the New Jerusalem Church. Edward MacKenzie Jr. was arrested at his Weymouth home after being indicted on charges of racketeering and extortion from the Boston church known to many as Church of the Hill, according to the US Department of Justice. MacKenzie was the director of operations at the church since 2003 and federal authorities are accusing him of looting the church of its financial assets through fraud, deceit, extortion, theft and bribery. Police Log: Weymouth Man Arrested For Assault With Dangerous Weapon

Wednesday, May 15: At 6:40 a.m. police arrested Christopher Dahl, 20 of Weymouth for a warrant charge.  The arrest was made on Washington Street near the Sacred Heart Church. At 7:05 p.m. police arrested John K. Lowry, 53 of Weymouth for assault with a dangerous weapon and threatening to commit a crime.  The arrest was made on Union Street. At 7:50 p.m. police arrested Kenneth McAuliffe , age 49 of Weymouth on three warrant charges.  The arrest was made on Gilmore Street.

Weymouth Man Arrested For Third Drunk Driving Offense

Police arrested a 46-year-old Weymouth man for drunken driving for a third time on Monday morning. Kevin Mulligan of 200 Burkhall Street, Apt. 308, was stopped by police at the Boston Convenience Store on Washington Street at 1:17 a.m., according to the Weymouth police log. Mulligan was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol (third offense), and a marked lanes violation.

Weymouth Woman Suffers Injuries After Driving Through Apartment Building

Maple Garden Apartments was damaged Monday afternoon by a vehicle.

A 35-year-old Weymouth woman was transported to the South Shore Hospital after she drove her vehicle into the Maple Garden Apartments. At 1:04 p.m. Monday, the woman allegedly drove her 1997 Honda Civic into the building, where she lives, according to Weymouth Police Captain Richard Fuller. Police said the woman’s injuries were not life threatening. “Based on the preliminary investigation it appears that the female was turning into a parking space when she struck another vehicle and continued on into the building,” Fuller said in a written statement. The apartment complex evacuated several units as a precaution. There was significant damage to the wall of the building as a result of the crash. Police said the operator has not yet been …

Police Log: Young Quincy Woman Assaults Officer During Drug Arrest

Friday, May 10: At 3:38 a.m. police arrested Pauline McNeil, 21 of Quincy for drug possession, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.  The arrest was made at the Connell Ice Rink on Broad Street. At 1:46 p.m. a water problem was reported at the Shaw’s Plaza on Middle Street.  At 3:10 p.m. a shoplifting was reported at the CVS on Washington Street. At 6:33 p.m. police arrested Kristen Lee Cooper, 33, of Weymouth for larceny over $250.  The arrest was made at the Weymouth Police Station.

Wednesday, May 8: At 10:43 a.m. police arrested Elizabeth Goldman,  35 of Rockland for larceny over $250 and receiving stolen property.  She was arrested at the Weymouth Police Station. At 3:54 p.m. police arrested Vincent Agostino, 31 of Hull for indecent assault and battery.  The arrest was made at the Super 8 Motel on Washington Street. At 6:23 p.m. police arrested Christopher M. Mitchell, 24 of Weymouth for larceny from a building on Randolph Street.  Thursday, May 9: At 6:44 p.m. an assault and battery was reported on Main Street. At 7:28 p.m. police disposed a hypodermic needle at the Boston Sports Club on Washington Street.
