Two Weymouth Men Arrested For Apartment Break-in

The suspects allegedly stole two TVs, an Xbox with the system's controllers, and other items, according to Weymouth Police.

Police arrested two young Weymouth men for breaking into apartment unit on Donald Street on Tuesday evening.

The arrest came after a resident witnessed the two suspects load a large flat screen television screen into the back of a red Subaru Forester outside the South Weymouth apartment.  The resident quickly called police and provided them with the license plate number, according to Weymouth Police Sgt. Erine Metcalf.

Weymouth Detective Steven Kupsc located the vehicle in the complex of Queen Anne’s Court and arrested Franklin Shakespeare, 23 and Christopher Lindsey, 27, just after 5:45 p.m., police said.

“This is another example of two breaking and entering suspects being taken off the street thanks to a witness not hesitating to call the police when they observed something suspicious in their neighborhood, Metcalf said in a written statement. “Cases like this reinforce the importance of citizen involvement in helping protect our community. Citizens can be an extra set of ‘eyes and ears’ for the police. By reporting these types of suspicious activities citizens can help us make Weymouth safer and more secure.”
