Weymouth Mom Says Missing Daughter is Danger to Herself

A 25 year-old Weymouth woman is missing and her mother is asking for the community's help to find her.

A Weymouth mother says she wants her 25-year-old daughter to come home because she is a danger to herself.

Mary Smith Ahern said her daughter Rebbeca Smith’s depression started after there had been multiple deaths in her family.

“She can’t handle it all,” Ahern said.  “She needs medical help.”

Smith has been missing since last Tuesday and her mother says she believes she ran away and has not been kidnapped.

Smith had been living with a man in Norwell who is also searching for her, Ahern said.  She has shut off her cell phone and made a call to a friend from another phone on Monday but she did not say where she was.

Her mother believes she had taken off with someone else but does not know whom.

“She’s a danger to herself,” Ahern said.  “She needs the correct help.”

If found, Ahern would like her daughter to seek medical attention.  The Wemouth mom says she suffers from severe depression and is still grieving deaths in the family.

“I just really need an address for Rebbeca,” Ahern said.  “She’s not thinking clearly and she needs someone’s help before she hurts herself.”

The Weymouth Police Department have filed a missing person report for Smith.  They have told Ahern that if they contact her, she has the right not to return home because of her age.

Smith was last seen getting into a black car on Washington Street in Norwell  on Tuesday,  June 25.

Anyone with information is asked to call Ahern at 781-626-0216.
